Chris was born in Topeka, Kansas and went to the University of Kansas, obtaining an undergraduate degree in Biochemistry & Philosophy, followed by a master’s degree in Statistical Ecology from the University of Oregon. He obtained his law degree from the University of Kansas in 2003, where he was Editor-in-Chief of the University of Kansas Law Review and was Order of the Coif. Right after law school, he served as a clerk for a United States District Court Judge in Kansas City.
Chris and his wife-to-be moved to Washington, D.C., where he practiced at an international law firm doing commercial real estate finance, patent litigation, and white-collar corporate investigations. He then went to work for the United States Department of Justice in the areas of tax law and corporate fraud.
Since moving back, Chris has focused his practice on commercial litigation, personal injury, and civil rights, including sexual assault cases.
He has been named “Best of Bar” in Kansas City by a vote of fellow attorneys and was a member of the 2014 Class of Centurions Leaders Program, Kansas City Chamber of Commerce.
